The 3 Boxes comprising the remains of General William Carr Beresford's Fly Tying Items

Early Items reference General Beresford of 'Beresford's Fancy' Fame..and have been added to over time by members of the family. The items were handed down and purchased from a descendant. There is a letter containing Horsehair Signed by the General (Interestingly there was an item of General Beresford's Horsehair in the Kelson Kit - currently overseas after being purchased at Mullocks). Although the origins were clearly in early 1800s the bulk of the items are from late 1800s-early 1900s and reflect the more diverse use of materials from that period.

Beresford County New South Wales is named in his honour!

Some of the Tools are Sterling Silver from the period!
